My name is Georgina Morton and I am a Personal Trainer specialising in Nordic Walking, Bungy Pump and exercise for Stroke, Diabetes and Obesity as well as fitness and healthy lifestyle services for all levels and ages living in the Southport, Formby and West Lancashire areas.

I am a fully qualified personal trainer and have worked in the fitness industry for 15 years. I am a passionate believer that by exercising regularly and making healthy eating choices, we can reap the benefits of living longer and looking better.

Personal Training

I offer personal training for anyone wanting to improve their fitness and figure to help them  feel great. All new clients have an initial consultation. This is necessary to establish your lifestyle, current fitness levels and any medical conditions. Using this information we can agree your goals and design a programme based around you that will enable you to achieve them. 

Training sessions are flexible and varied. They can be at your home, indoors and out, at Banks Leisure Centre, outdoor in the park, on the beach, on coastal paths or as easy as using the streets near where you live.
 

Nordic Walking

Nordic walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking- it makes something we can do… twice as effective. Nordic walking uses poles in order to add two major benefits to walking:  The use of poles means the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs and they propel the walker along. This means the walker works harder than usual, yet the support given by the poles makes it feel easier!

Sefton Active- I am delighted to be working with Sefton Active Walks to promote Nordic walking and teach courses leading to the Nordic walking UK competance card. Free walks with Active Walks, for anyone having completed a nordic walking technique course, on Wednesdays at 2pm,  Dunes Leisure Centre, Southport

Benefits of Nordic Walking

·   Nordic walking works your upper and lower body. Exercises 90% of your body’s muscles(95% if you’re talking to a friend in the class) and tones your legs, buttocks, chest shoulders and particularly the backs of your arms

·   Nordic walking burns 20% more calories than ordinary walking- but only if it’s done right

·   Nordic walking is an ideal exercise for older adults to maintain functional capacity and help lead to an active longer life

·   Nordic walking is effective at conditioning the abdominal muscles that provide core stability

·   Nordic walking is a perfect  activity to combine the mental health benefits of effective exercise with those of being out doors

·   It can be done anywhere

·   It appeals to all ages and fitness levels

·   It is easy to learn and to keep up

 
Initially you need to complete a 4 week Technique course  or learn to walk day which I run on a regular basis.

 I provide poles for courses and walks and as a member of Nordic Walking UK I am able to purchase poles for you with no postage charges.
